Exceptional Transports

The authorisation request can be completed, submitted and withdrawn online via the portal:

Documents required for the issue of exceptional transit authorisations

  • Fill in the authorisation request on a pre-printed SALT template and the “Exceptional Transit Notice” form
  • Enclose the postal current account statements for the payments made for administrative charges in favour of all the companies relevant to the transit.
  • More than one technical diagram relating to the journeys to be made, with stamp and signature of the company’s legal representative.
  • Certified photocopies of the registration certificates (not older than three months) of the vehicles forming the convoy.
  • Declaration by the company, in the case of transport on behalf of third parties, certifying that it possesses all the specific requirements and authorisations under Italian Law no. 298 of 6 June 1974 and subsequent amendments and integrations.
  • Declaration of having verified the practicability of the entire route requested and the suitability of the convoy to the bends along the entire route.
  • For transports exceeding the height, a declaration that it has been verified that there are no power lines on the entire route that result in a clearance of less than 0.40 m or road structures with a clearance of less than 0.20 m. from the intrados.
  • For convoys, a declaration that the mass limits set out in Article 62 of the new Italian Highway Code are not exceeded.
  • Insurance policy with a minimum limit of € 10,000,000.
